So we have all ready the analysis, opinions, social media about what will or won't happen during the <Edited ~ So the fools did it > Government shutdown. What we do know is that All Hazards now clearly needs to include Congressional produced events like shutting down on purpose the US Government.
Pretty sure I don't have to remind the audience of this blog that besides being in Hurricane season we have how many wild fires or Earthquakes on going and what ever known unknown we have forthcoming.
One final question and one of the big unknowns is what will happen to Social Media Accounts for government agencies during a shutdown?
BTW for any tourists or world leaders visiting the Nation's Capital City there is chance other than necessary personal much of the District of Columbia's workforce will be furloughed aka not at work. We do applaud Mayor Gray for defining Congress and working to keep the District of Columbia open and visitors and works in the Capitol of the Free world safe and hope that Federal authorities don't interfer with DC's capabilities to run all of it State, County and City level services during this self imposed Federal shutdown.

Since there has to be some plan for dealing with "All Hazard" we would love to see the orders of operations for a shutdown of the very government providing services.And, we can think of no better example of why a Public Safety Cloud need to exist since it's went not if that we're preparing for and not being able to bring the full force and computing power of the US Government during a disaster is unconscionable. We have provided example of hybrid clouds, and scaling up virtual machines (think computing power) at the click of few keys so there is really no reason to not start building out the capabilities to respond with our best to any and all hazards.
